Well, with the Darker With The Day gallery opening, I visited and took in what George Rush had to offer.
Walking in, I noticed a dark window frame, having the perspective of looking in.
As I went around the first wall, I was surrounded by four other paintings. That same window was behind me, but with the perspective of looking out. I immediately noticed the double image, a blurred effect, that appeared on the wall behind each canvas. I noticed, also, that time was represented quite obviously. It seemed as though there were three times of the day. A morning, afternoon, and late evening scene.
I got the sense of blurred time. That throughout the day, everything blends, the boundaries are warped and time just goes without any regard to anything else.
I liked it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the exhibition. I too appreciate Rush's exploration of time throughout the work.
